OK, here's the deal with flights to Abaco, Bahamas:
You get what you pay for. It's hard to run an airline flying here selling $199 round trip tickets, and those airlines that do, go out of business all the time. Purchase those tickets at your own risk. But, here's the good news...Abaco is one of the best, most unspoiled and least crowded island destinations you will ever find. It's the price you pay to find that deserted beach all to yourself. Here are the companies we recommend:
- Delta Airlines: They are now offering non-stop service out of Atlanta GA on Saturdays and Tuesdays ( Tuesdays fares are cheaper;) )
- AirGate Aviation: they fly out of Daytona Beach, Florida (DBIA) and New Smyrna Bch FL . Great service that feels like you're flying private- perfect way to start your vacation. http://www.flyairgate.com
- Bahamas Air: Our national airline, they fly out of West Palm Beach, Florida (PBI) and Miami, Florida (MIA). These larger airports make connections easier- you can get to Miami, Florida from anywhere in the world. Larger planes, bathrooms, flight attendants... "Hello, would you like a drink"...enough said. http://www.bahamasair.com
- American Eagle: Another one of the larger carriers and with this one, you can fly one airline for your whole trip. They fly out of Ft Lauderdale, Florida (FLL), Miami, Florida (MIA), and West Palm Beach, Florida (PBI).http://www.aa.com/i18n/footer/eagleOverview.jsp
- Continental Connection: Another one of the large airlines, Miami (MIA), Ft Lauderdale (FLL), and West Palm Beach (PBI). Same thing easier connections, one ticket, and bathrooms on the plane.http://www.continental.com/web/en-US/default.aspx
